Hi. I'm Stefanie.
My Story
I graduated from Chapman University with a B.A. in Liberal Studies and obtained my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. A few years later, I added a supplemental authorization in history and English. Currently, I am a proud 7th grade Social Studies teacher at Luther Burbank Middle School who loves growing as an educator and empowering other educators. In addition to creating engaging and interactive lessons for my students, I am the co-director of our school’s musical theater program. It was a dream come true for this Oz lover to be able to produce The Wizard of Oz in 2019.

Aside from teaching, I travel the nation as a Kagan Trainer to educate others about Kagan Cooperative Learning Structures to equip them with a variety of tools to increase engagement amongst their students.

Aside from teaching, hockey is my life. I even played for 10 years as a kid in sunny California. Despite growing up in California, my dad grew up in Detroit so my favorite team is the Detroit Red Wings. Every year, my dad and I go on a Father/Daughter trip to see them play in a different arena which has provided me with memories that will last a lifetime.
In my spare time I love to travel the world, go to the theater to see musicals, work out in my garage gym and go to Disneyland. A few hobbies I have recently invested a lot of time in are paper crafting, making handmade greeting cards, stitching on cards and cross stitch. I also like to complete jigsaw puzzles, drink my coffee each morning and snack on my favorite food, french fries.
